This silk haori is an artwork in itself. From start to finish the entire process behind making the fabric itself takes roughly a year to complete. The threads woven into these incredible fabrics are dyed using a technique that has been passed down for generations, an all natural mud dying technique that is only found on the island of Amami Oshima. Traditionally, only the very rich were able to afford these kimonos. Even today, these Amami Oshima fabrics remain highly sought after for their luxury and exclusivity. The lining is a hand-painted commissioned work of art, as we can tell by the signature. A special robe or blazer for lounging, whether indoor in your sunroom or outdoor near the pool, but it is also an exquisite statement piece for a special event.

Dry cleaning: If you wish to wash the whole kimono or want to remove a stain/s, please consult a trusted dry cleaner who has dealt with kimonos before or knows how to wash silk. There is always a risk of damaging the fabric.
